This Shoumei white tea comes from Fuding, Fujian, one of China’s top regions for white tea production. Grown at 3,000 ft, the tea trees thrive in misty conditions, absorbing sun, wind, and rain in the open landscape.
The leaves are traditionally withered and dried outdoors, then aged indoors. This tea is combined with aged red mandarin orange peels from Xinhui, Guangdong, renowned for their medicinal properties and flavour.
The result is a richly layered tea with a harmonious blend of spiced, earthy white tea and citrus notes, offering a warming, balanced experience – perfect for winter months.
Shou Mei white tea is known for its rich antioxidant content, which may help protect cells from damage, support skin health, and aid in maintaining a healthy immune system. It is also enjoyed for its soothing qualities, making it a gentle tea to relax with throughout the day.
It has a fuller body than other white teas, with a slightly nutty, honey-like sweetness and subtle floral notes. Some drinkers also notice a hint of dried fruit or woodiness, giving it a comforting and complex flavour.
Shou Mei tea can be a helpful part of a balanced lifestyle. Its antioxidants may support metabolism, while its light, naturally sweet taste makes it a satisfying low-calorie beverage that can replace sugary drinks.
Many drinkers find that Shou Mei’s mild astringency and natural antioxidants can help with digestion and reduce feelings of heaviness after a meal.
Absolutely. Cold brewing Shou Mei for 6–8 hours in the fridge creates a smooth, naturally sweet infusion that’s refreshing and lower in caffeine than hot brewing.
Yes, Shou Mei tea can be aged for several years, developing a smoother, deeper flavour over time. Properly stored in a cool, dry place away from light, aged Shou Mei gains earthy, fruity notes that many tea enthusiasts treasure.
Shou Mei tea is harvested later in the season than Silver Needle or White Peony, giving it a bolder, more full-bodied flavour. It has a deeper golden liquor and a fruity, honey-like aroma, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy a richer white tea experience.

If this is going to be a limited edition I had better get another order in ... and not praise it too highly! A great flavour with the citrus hints making it a distinctive addition to the range of flavours offered. Like the little squares that it comes in making it easy to get the strength right. Like the other teas at least two or more cups can be made from the same leaves.
