what makes Fujian tea so special?

Fujian sits on China’s southeastern coast, where warm, humid air from the sea meets the cool elevation of the Wuyi Mountains. This unique combination of climate and altitude creates growing conditions of extraordinary richness — and a tea culture that has flourished for over a thousand years.
It is the only province in China credited with inventing both white tea and oolong tea, and its jasmine-scented teas are among the most treasured in the world. Few regions can claim such breadth and depth of tea tradition.

what does Fujian tea taste like?

The flavour spectrum across Fujian teas is remarkably wide. White teas like Shou Mei are gentle and honeyed, with a subtle dried fruit sweetness that deepens beautifully with age. Dragon Pearl Jasmine offers a delicate, perfumed floral character — soft, clean, and endlessly approachable.
Tie Guan Yin oolong sits somewhere between green and black — floral and creamy with a lingering mineral finish. Wild Wuyi Mountain black tea is bold and layered, with a natural sweetness and earthy depth drawn from its rocky mountain terroir.
Flowering teas from Fujian add a visual dimension to the cup — hand-tied bulbs that bloom dramatically in hot water, releasing jasmine fragrance as they open.

how to brew Fujian tea

Brewing temperature varies by tea type — Fujian’s diversity means there’s no single approach.
Water temperature: 75–80°C for white teas and jasmine varieties; 85–95°C for oolong; 90–100°C for black tea
Amount: 2–3g per 350ml (flowering tea bulbs: 1 bulb per cup)
Steep time: 1–3 minutes, depending on the tea
Infusions: Tie Guan Yin and white teas are particularly well-suited to multiple re-steeps — the flavour often evolves beautifully across three or four infusions.

what caffeine levels are available?

Our Fujian collection covers the full caffeine spectrum. White teas are low in caffeine and gentle by nature, making them suitable throughout the day. Oolong and black teas sit at the medium-to-high end.
Herbal offerings such as our Bamboo & Rose blend are naturally caffeine-free — ideal for evening use or those who prefer to avoid stimulants entirely.

what are the health benefits?

Fujian white teas are among the least processed of all teas, meaning their natural antioxidants — including polyphenols and catechins — are preserved in abundance. They are widely valued for their anti-inflammatory properties and gentle detoxifying qualities.
Tie Guan Yin oolong is traditionally associated with digestive support and heart health. Black teas from the Wuyi Mountains are rich in theaflavins and thearubigins — powerful antioxidants with a broad range of studied health benefits.

Fujian teas at a glance

Our collection celebrates Fujian’s most iconic and beloved tea styles.
Shou Mei White Tea: A full-bodied Fujian white tea with a warm, honeyed sweetness — available as elegant mini cakes that age gracefully over time.
Dragon Pearl Jasmine White Tea: Hand-rolled pearls scented with fresh jasmine blossoms, unfurling in the cup to release a delicate, floral fragrance.
Tie Guan Yin Oolong: The legendary Iron Goddess of Mercy — a lightly oxidised oolong with a creamy, orchid-like character and a long, clean finish.
Wild Mountain Wuyi Black Tea: A bold, naturally sweet black tea grown wild in the rocky Wuyi Mountains, with an earthy complexity that deepens in the cup.
Flowering Teas: Hand-tied tea bulbs that bloom dramatically in hot water — a visual and aromatic experience in a single cup.

can you cold brew Fujian tea?

Absolutely — and Fujian teas respond particularly well to cold brewing. White teas and jasmine varieties become naturally sweet, floral, and beautifully refreshing when cold-steeped, with none of the bitterness that hot water can sometimes draw out.
Add 4g of tea to 500ml of cold water and steep in the fridge for 4–8 hours.
Dragon Pearl Jasmine and Shou Mei are especially delicious served over ice.

how should I store Fujian tea?

Store in a cool, dark, airtight container away from moisture and strong odours. Fresh white teas and oolongs are best enjoyed within 12–18 months of harvest for their fullest character.
Aged Shou Mei white tea cakes are the notable exception — like Yunnan pu-erh, they reward patient, long-term storage, mellowing and deepening in complexity over the years.

is Fujian tea good for beginners?

It’s one of the most welcoming regions for those new to Chinese tea. Dragon Pearl Jasmine is naturally smooth, fragrant, and impossible not to enjoy. Shou Mei white tea is gentle and forgiving, and the flowering teas offer a genuinely magical introduction to what tea can be.
Start with something floral and let Fujian’s remarkable breadth take you further from there.
