Clouds & Mist Green

Clouds and Mist also known as Yun Wu takes its name from the sea of clouds surrounding the mountain peaks on which this tea is grown. Around the mountains near Ya’an is a fascinating place, home to the giant panda and also the original, ancient home of tea farming. This is one of China’s traditional imperial tribute teas. The curled leaves of this green tea are harvested in the spring from tender tea buds.

This tea reminds us of the Old Chinese Poem Seeking a hermit without success by Jia Dao:

I ask your lad beneath a pine.
“My master has gone for herbs fine.
He stays deep in the mountain proud,
I know not where, veiled by the cloud.
