The purple bamboo matcha whisk is hand made using what we think is a mind blowing feat of human skill and ingenuity. What emerges is a perfect purpose built all natural tea-tool.
The bamboo whisk is a traditional aspect of the Japanese Matcha tea ceremony. We recommend whisking when there is a small amount of water in with your matcha to build up a foam and avoid whisking after adding too much water.
Yes – if you want smooth, frothy Matcha with no clumps, a Matcha whisk is essential. Unlike spoons or frothers, it evenly suspends the powder and creates a signature velvety foam in seconds.
You’ll likely end up with bitter clumps at the bottom of your cup. Whisking not only improves texture but also enhances taste and aroma by fully suspending the Matcha particles.
Soak your whisk in warm water for 30 seconds to soften the bristles. Then, whisk briskly in a Z shape for about 15–30 seconds until a fine froth forms on top.
Yes. Soaking protects the delicate tines from breaking and helps them flex better, making your whisk last longer and perform optimally.
Yes – over-whisking can make the Matcha too foamy and dilute the flavour. Aim for a soft froth with small bubbles in under 30 seconds.
Bamboo whisks are traditional, biodegradable, and specifically crafted for Matcha. Silicone whisks don’t create the same fine foam or ritual experience.
This usually means it wasn’t whisked properly or wasn’t sifted beforehand. For best results, always sift your Matcha and whisk with hot water (80°C)

Matcha is easy to froth with this. Overall, it appears firmer and more stable than other, cheaper matcha whisks I have tried. It does not unravel quickly. After using it, I cleaned it and let it dry on a chasen holder, which helps maintain its shape.
The matcha bamboo tea whisk is of excellent quality, I liked it. I gifted it to my friend and she liked it.
This whisk really feels premium! Makes frothing my matcha a true pleasure.
