can tea help with headaches?

Tea won’t replace medical treatment, but certain herbs have long been used to support relief from tension headaches and migraines.
Peppermint is known for its cooling, muscle-relaxing properties, while ginkgo biloba is traditionally associated with improved blood flow to the brain – a factor that can play a role in certain types of headaches.

which teas are in this collection?

Whole Leaf Peppermint Tea: A caffeine-free classic. The menthol in peppermint has a natural muscle-relaxing effect and may help ease tension headaches. It also makes for a genuinely refreshing cup at any time of day.
Ginkgo Biloba Tea: Made from the leaves of one of the world’s oldest tree species, ginkgo biloba is traditionally used to support circulation and cognitive function. It is caffeine-free and has a light, slightly earthy flavour.

what caffeine level should I choose?

Both teas in this collection are caffeine-free, making them suitable any time – including in the evening when you might not want an added stimulant.
If your headache is linked to caffeine withdrawal, a low-caffeine tea from our wider range may also be worth exploring as a way to gradually reduce your intake.

how to brew teas for headaches

Peppermint: Use freshly boiled water (100°C), 2-3g per 350ml, steep for 5-7 minutes.
Ginkgo Biloba: Use water at around 90-95°C, 2-3g per 350ml, steep for 5 minutes.
Both teas can be enjoyed plain or with a little honey. Avoid adding milk, as this can mute the herbal properties.

are there any precautions to be aware of?

Ginkgo biloba may interact with blood-thinning medications. If you are taking any prescription medicine, it is worth checking with your doctor before drinking it regularly.
These teas are not a substitute for medical advice. If you experience frequent or severe headaches, please consult a healthcare professional.
