Milk Oolong

Tea arrived in Taiwan in the 1600’s and production began in earnest in the 1800’s when trees were imported from Fujian province. The sprawling 3000m+ high mountain ranges of Taiwan formed the perfect location for tea production where higher altitudes result in richer more fragrant teas and both North Fujian ribbon and South Fujian semi-rolled ball styles have been adopted.

Jin Xuan, which translates as Golden Daylily is also known as Milk Oolong due to its unique natural milky flavour, which after the first few cups subsides into sweet flowers.

Milk Oolongs are semi-oxidised camellia sinensis Jin Xuan cultivars, grown at high altitudes where mist exacerbates the sweet milky flavour and blissful aroma of the plant.

Jin Xuan Milk Oolong tea has become a new favourite! Unlike traditional oolongs, it has a smooth, almost buttery taste with subtle hints of honey. Jin Xuan’s gentle sweetness makes it a fantastic choice for any time of day. It’s light enough to enjoy in the morning yet comforting enough for a relaxing evening cup.

  2. Karen Barbour

I love this tea. When you open the packet and sniff, it smells like condensed milk.

The little nuggets of tea unfurl as they brew and you can get a number of brews from one teaspoonful.

It is an amber tea and I sweeten it with either honey or maple syrup. Both compliment it very well.

I drink at least one cup of this every day (sometimes 3 or 4) and it is very refreshing. It has lots of antioxidants in it so it’s healthy as well.

Well worth the money. I would highly recommend.
